PCSO Mark Phillips. I’d
just like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Mark
Phillips and I’m the new Police Community Support Officer, for the
Ascot area. I have moved from Swansea, South Wales to pursue a new
career and a new challenge for myself. My previous employment was in the
care sector as a support worker so I am really looking forward to the
challenges my new role with Thames Valley Police will provide me. I am
working alongside PCSO Melita Diprose as part of the neighbourhood
policing team.
I met some of you outside Waitrose in Sunningdale at the end of January and outside Tesco in Ascot High Street in the middle of February.
Calling the Police will soon be made easier. From the 14th November if you wish to contact the police and your call is less urgent you should dial 101 this is the police new non-emergency number. If your call is urgent you should dial 999 |
101 will be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and will be easier to remember than the old 08458 505050 number for non-emergency calls.
The police suggest the benefits of 101 will be;
101 will:
- help communities to keep their neighbourhoods safe by giving them one easy way to contact their local police and to report non-emergency crime and disorder
- make the police more accessible to their communities, while reducing pressure on the 999 system and helping the police to allocate their resources where they are needed most
- assist the police to cut crime by making it easier for the public to pass on information about crimes in their neighbourhoods - allowing the police to take swift action
- enable local partners to join up with the police to provide communities with even easier access to a wider range of local services
